WE ARE STILL HERE (2015) Movie Trailer 2: Another Day, Another Haunted House

We Are Still Here Trailer 2Ted Geoghegan‘s We Are Still Here (2015) movie trailer 2 stars Barbara Crampton, Andrew Sensenig, Lisa Marie, and Larry FessendenWe Are Still Here‘s plot synopsis: “In the cold, wintery fields of New England, a lonely old house wakes up every thirty years – and demands a sacrifice.”

This trailer begins like most other current horror films. There’s an ominous house in a seemingly normal setting, something violent occurred within it a long time ago, and those evil forces are now long gone…or are they?

As a horror fan, the lion’s share is disappointing. You’ve seen so many of the variations, so many attempts at doing something new and scary, and most films fall short. It’s hard to make a film, and even harder to scare the shit out of an audience by doing something original, or simply, well. There are very few classic horror films, and this is why they’re so religiously revered by us. When you find one, a perfect one that works for you, you hold it up high and you hold it close. If you want to see the latest, perfect horror film, look no further than Ti West‘s The House of The Devil (2009). Yes, it is indeed another haunted house/babysitter flick, but it walks that tightrope of tension and danger so well, you feel like you’re in the hands of a master. It’s a slow-burn, filled with dread and an ominous danger hidden in the attic. Eventually, you’re going to go up there.

It’s promising then, that not only did We Are Still Here garner its fair share of praise at this year’s SXSW festival, but the same producers behind The House of The Devil were involved here, as well. Shall we go again, horror fans? Let’s get our hopes up.
