The Pick

The Ruins

Why I picked it

The Ruins was written by Scott Smith, writer of A Perfect Plan. That is a pretty good inducement to see this film. Plus it will be nice seeing a horror movie involving a college age cast handled seriously and rated R. And if you did not notice, Donnie Darko’s girlfriend is in this film as well. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens when the characters are trapped on the ruins. Wikipedia says that what happens to certain characters has been changed around from the book. I’m guessing the survivor person(s) was changed to make the film more upbeat and Hollywood. All the more reason to read the book if the film is cool enough.
