Weekend Theater Picks / Mar. 7, 2008

The Picks.

10,000 B.C., The Bank Job and CJ7

Why I picked them.

That’s simple. 10,000 B.C. is the only epic film to come out in a while and it’s from the director of Independence Day. Though Emmerich’s films are usually more spectacle than substance, they are usually entertaining for the first watch. After that, the plot holes become more and more evident. I’ll be seeing the matinée for it myself. I can not pay more than the matinée price for this film, even with Camille Belle being hot. Sorry. I have seen some of The Bank Job already and can say that it is a cool heist flick that earns its R rating. It’s the opposite of most of the films that are currently out in theaters and Statham is as stoic as ever. CJ7 is a Stephen Chow directed, written and staring film. If you have seen Shaolin Soccer or Kung Fu Hustle, you know this film will be a ton of laughs.

What’s your Theater Pick this weekend?
