Patty Jenkins Reveals Wonder Woman 2 Will Be Set In America

Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins says that the planned sequel Wonder Woman 2 will take the titular heroine to the United States.

Debuting to box office success and critical acclaim, it’s no surprise that Warner Bros. is already trying to get the ball rolling on a follow-up to the DC superhero film. Indeed, word got around last week that Jenkins is not only contractually bound to return for the sequel but also that it will take place in the 21st century.

Asked about these reports, Jenkins merely affirmed that the movie will be set sometime between now and the World War 1-era of the first film, explaining that she is “planning something more interesting using that period of time.” She did, however, confirm that Wonder Woman will come to America, saying that “It’s time” she did.

Comingsoon.net, the source of this story, shares the following information about Wonder Woman:

Wonder Woman was produced by Charles Roven, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder, with Richard Suckle, Stephen Jones, Wesley Coller, Geoff Johns and Rebecca Roven serving as executive producers. The film stars Gal Gadot (The Fast and the Furious films, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Chris Pine (Star Trek), Robin Wright (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Netflix‘s House of Cards), Danny Huston (Clash of the Titans, X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Ewen Bremner (Exodus: Gods and Kings, Snowpiercer), Saïd Taghmaoui (American Hustle), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In), Connie Nielsen (GladiatorNymphomaniac: Vol. I) and Lucy Davis (Shaun of the Dead).
