Syfy’s New Original Series Wynonna Earp Gets First Promotional Images. Syfy has begun production on their newest series Wynonna Earp, which is a live-adaptation adaptation of the comic book series by Beau Smith. The network has already released some promotional images online.

The new images show lead actress Melanie Scrofano with her gun already locked and loaded with the series tagline ‘Evil souls burn longer’. The series will be debuting on Syfy in April 2016 with 13 episodes for it’s first season. The upcoming series follows Wynonna Earp who comes home after years on the run and being in juvenile detention. However, not everyone is happy for her return. But when demons become a problem in Earp’s hometown, she becomes the town’s only hope to eliminate them. Wynonna must choose which side of the law she wants to fight on in order to clear the name of her legendary great grandfather Wyatt Earp.

The show is being produced by IDW Entertainment and SEVEN24 Films. Emily Andras, a producer on Lost Girl and Killjoys will also produce the show and will serve as showrunner. The show is currently shooting in Calgary.
