Amy Acker Cast As Female Lead In Fox’s X-Men Series

Person of Interest actress Amy Acker is slated to play one of the leads in Fox‘s planned X-Men TV spin-off.

A prolific TV actress, Acker has played a diverse range of roles over the course of her extensive career. In addition to guest appearances on such shows as Supernatural, How I Met Your Mother, The Good Wife, Grimm, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the actress also had a main role in the fifth season of Alias, playing Kelly Peyton for 13 episodes on the ABC spy drama. On the film front, she also played supporting characters in Catch Me If You Can and The Cabin in the Woods.

Coming to light the same week as the news that Stephen Moyer will play the father of the mutant protagonists, the report says that Acker will portray his wife and the mother of the superpowered offspring.

“Developing a Marvel property has been a top priority for the network–and we are so pleased with how Matt Nix has led us into this thrilling universe,” Fox Entertainment president David Madden said back in July when the show was announced. “There’s comic book adventure, emotional and complicated relationships, and a rich, existing mythology from which to draw. With the brilliant production crew behind this project, it has all the makings of a big, fun and exciting new series.”
