There are a couple of quotes from the director that accompanied these images where he talks more about Oscar’s portrayal as Apocalypse. “He’ll be very similar to images in the comic. There’s obviously something very futuristic and yet ancient to the design of both his costume and his physicality.”

The filmmaker also spoke about Evan Peters coming back as Quicksilver and where he fits into the new film. “You can’t have him run around a kitchen in the Pentagon again. But I can incorporate him into the movie in a much more appropriate and integral way.” And what about his father Magento? Fassbender responded with this:

Magneto is a guy that plays both side. It depends on the day of the week. When we first meet him here, he’s hung up his cape and he’s fallen in love and had a family. His motives are in some ways justifiable, it’s just his methods that are questionable.

X-Men: Apocalypse also stars James McAvoy, Lana Condor, and Kodi Smit-McPhee. The film is scheduled to release in theaters May 27, 2016.
