Ian McKellen Patrick Stewart cast in X-Men Days Of Future Past. The casting of Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart in X-Men: Days Of Future Past (2014) answers the question of whether or not the two actors would reprise their roles in the Bryan Singer directed film. Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart both appeared in Singer’s X-Men and X-Men 2 and Brett Ratner‘s X-Men: The Last Stand. Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult will be reprising their roles from X-Men: First Class as well.

Bryan Singer’s tweets about the role reprisals in X-Men: Days Of Future Past:

Hugh Jackman will most-likely reprise his Wolverine role in X-Men: Days Of Future Past as well. The one lingering question is whether Ellen Page will reprise her role as Kitty Pryde from X-Men: The Last Stand.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past‘s plot synopsis: based on Days of Future Past storyline from 1981?s Uncanny X-Men, “The storyline alternates between present day, in which the X-Men fight Mystique’s Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline caused by the X-Men’s failure to prevent the Brotherhood from assassinating Senator Robert Kelly. In this future universe, Sentinels rule the United States, and mutants live in internment camps. The present-day X-Men are forewarned of the possible future by a future version of their teammate Kitty Pryde, whose mind traveled back in time and possessed her younger self to warn the X-Men.”
