X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST (2014): Peter Dinklage Cast, Singer’s Scope

Peter Dinklage Game of Thrones

Peter Dinklage cast in X-Men Days of Future Past. The casting of Peter Dinklage in X-Men: Days Of Future Past (2014) raises more questions than it answers about the Bryan Singer directed film. Peter Dinklage’s role in the film is undisclosed at this point. There is some speculation that Dinklage will portray Alpha Flight team member Puck / Eugene Milton Judd. Remember, “Alpha Flight’s name can be seen in X2: X-Men United on the computer when Mystique hacks into Stryker’s computer.”

Bryan Singer confirmed Peter Dinklage via Twitter:

On when X-Men: Days Of Future Past begins shooting, Bryan Singer had this to say: “I start shooting April 15th in Montreal, probably until October.”

On when part of X-Men: Days Of Future Past takes place and what historical figure will show up there:

Part of it takes place in the 1970s. And Richard Nixon’s in it, that’ll be an interesting casting choice…There’ll also be some more science-fiction-type aspects to the story and, without giving it away, some technology that we haven’t seen yet in the X-Men universe.

On the themes that will be represented in the film:

This movie will also deal with destiny, the choices we made, the people we were– how the people we were when we were young affects the world we have to live in in the future, and what if we could go back and change that.

On Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming)’s reappearance to the X-Men series in X-Men: Days Of Future Past:

Singer [said] he wasn’t sure if Alan Cumming would be coming back as Nightcrawler, because he wasn’t even sure the character is going to be in the movie. “I’m still, you know — there are certain aspects of the script that I’m still toying with,” he said.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past‘s plot synopsis: based on Days of Future Past storyline from 1981’s Uncanny X-Men, “The storyline alternates between present day, in which the X-Men fight Mystique’s Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, and a future timeline caused by the X-Men’s failure to prevent the Brotherhood from assassinating Senator Robert Kelly. In this future universe, Sentinels rule the United States, and mutants live in internment camps. The present-day X-Men are forewarned of the possible future by a future version of their teammate Kitty Pryde, whose mind traveled back in time and possessed her younger self to warn the X-Men.”
