Sophie Turner Set to Reprise Role of Jean Grey in New X-Men Film

Sophie Turner received praise from both critics and fans for her portrayal as the young Jean Grey in X-Men: Apocalypse, so it’s no surprise that she’ll be returning to the role. As a matter of fact, the actress confirmed recently that she’d be part of a new X-Men film soon.

While attending the BAFTA Awards this past weekend, the Game of Thrones actress spoke with HeyUGuys about whether she would return as Jean Grey in the popular X-Men franchise. The good news is that she said she would be coming back to her character in a new film, which she revealed would start filming soon. She said that she has already finished filming the seventh season of Game of Thrones, which means she has a few films that she is working on before coming back for the final season. “We’re about to start shooting the next X-Men, we’ve just finished shooting Season 7 of [Game of] Thrones, and I’ve got a couple of movies to do before X-Men starts. And then we go on to Season 8.” That’s another piece of good news to hear knowing that Sansa ends up surviving for another round of the HBO series!

The next X-Men film, which is rumored to be X-Men: Supernova is said to be a redo of the Dark Phoenix Saga. The popular comic book storyline was previously adapted for X-Men: The Last Stand, but here’s hoping for a more faithful take on the cult favorite comic arc. Are you guys excited that Sophie is returning to the X-Men films?
