YOGA HOSERS (2016) Movie Poster: Kevin Smith & Johnny Depp’s Daughters Do Comedy

Harley Quinn Smith Lily Rose Depp Yoga Hosers Poster

Yoga Hosers Movie Poster Released. It’s been a strange and unexpected trajectory, the path that Kevin Smith has paved for his legacy from his debut Clerks (1994) to his most recent, Tusk (2014) and now Yoga Hosers (2016). Smith was seen as a smart young director from the indie movement of the nineties. His contemporaries were these two guys, Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez or something. I’m not sure what those guys are up to now. Probably working at McDonalds, am I right?

Smith made dialogue driven comedies with dick and fart jokes, but his wit often permeated the usual conventions of those kinds of films. Dogma (1999), for example, is a little smarter than the usual ‘filth’. Chasing Amy tackles some sexual, societal issues in ways that a typical teen comedy wouldn’t, or didn’t at the time. He seems like a smart guy, but I’m sad to say, he lost me. Probably around Clerks 2 (2006) (though I did enjoy Tusk, in small portions).

Anyway, Yoga Hosers is his second installment of the “True North” trilogy he began with Tusk. It stars his daughter, and Johnny Depp‘s daughter. Does it look good? It certainly isn’t getting me excited.

What about you? Take a look at the poster.

I grew up in Hamburg to a German father and Ecuadorian mother. Obsessive student of film, Hip-Hop, and stand-up comedy. I love the dark dreambox that is the cinema auditorium. I love mountains and the ocean, but am equally exhilarated by the jungle of the city. I hope to one day create something that hits someone in the brain with thunderous effect.
