YOUR VOICE IN MY HEAD (2014): Emma Watson Joins Emma Forrest Memoir

Emma Watson

Emma Watson has signed to star in Your Voice In My Head, the adaptation of the Emma Forrest memoir. Francesca Gregorini will direct. The news comes straight from the Toronto Film Festival. Alice Owen and Michael Benaroya will produce the adaptation of the Forrest memoir. Alison Owen is an Academy nominee and is the producer on the upcoming Saving Mr. Banks. Benaroya Pictures’ Michael Benaroya credits include Lawless and Margin Call. The film will start shooting on November 4th in New York. The film has a proposed 2014 release date.

Emma Watson was previously attached to the film a few years ago when it was with Warner Bros. At the time Harry Potter director David Yates was also attached. Yates left in 2012 and Watson followed shortly after. Emily Blunt was discussed as a replacement for the film.

The project moved out of Warner Bros. and is now on the independent track. Watson has returned to the project with the new director Gregorini. Gregorini, the daughter of famed Bond girl Barbara Bach, co-helmed the Rooney Mara coming-of-age drama Tanner Hall.

International Film Trust (IFT), the recently launched division of Benaroya Pictures, is selling the project internationally in Toronto. CAA is representing domestic rights.

Your Voice In My Head tells the story of a young woman living the fast life in New York who attempts suicide before being saved by a selfless psychiatrist who is hiding the fact he is dying of cancer. Forrest, a novelist and journalist repped by CAA and Casarotto and Associates, wrote the script.

Watson, represented by WME and UK’s Markham Froggatt & Irwin, recently appeared in Sofia Coppola’s The Bling Ring and cameoed in Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s This is The End.
