3 Brothers Short Film

Spike Lee‘s 3 Brothers – Radio Raheem, Eric Garner And George Floyd (2020) short film has been released and features graphic content.

The graphic content includes the death of Radio Raheem (Bill Nunn) from Lee’s 1989 film Do The Right Thing, the death of Eric Garner from 2014, and George Floyd’s recent death. All three tragic moments are mixed together, showing the viewer how life has come to imminent art and vice versa.

Before anyone says it, people of color have been killed for a long time, in vicious ways, by people in authority, including law enforcement, long before Do The Right Thing was released in-theaters, hence why I mentioned vice versa.

When you watch this video, you sees why Lee picked Radio Raheem’s death, out of all the deaths from his films, to feature in this short film – all three die while being subdued by “white police officer(s) on the street.”
