The 9th Life of Louis Drax‘s plot synopsis: based on the book by Liz Jensen, “After surviving eight near-death accidents throughout his unlucky life, Louis Drax plunges off a steep cliff on his ninth birthday. While police investigate the cause of Louis’ near-fatal fall and the whereabouts of his violent father Peter (Paul), acclaimed neurologist Dr. Allan Pascal (Dornan) uses unorthodox techniques to try to tap into the boy’s unconscious mind and reveal the truth about the events that led to his condition.

Looks like a great film. It immediately reminded me of The Cell. The relationship that springs up between the doctor and the mother is a good narrative plot twist, as is the abusive father being nowhere to be found after the Louis’ ninth accident.
The 9th Life of Louis Drax also stars Fiona Vroom, Barbara Hershey, Oliver Platt, Anjali Jay, Terry Chen, Julian Wadham, Dakota Guppy, Spencer Drever, Lina Roessler, and Alex Zahara.
