CBS Commits To A Pilot Episode For A Burglar’s Guide To The City

CBS orders a pilot for Alex Kurtzman and Justin Lin‘s A Burglar’s Guide to the City.

Joining Kurtzman and Lin on the project as producers are Heather Kadin and Paul Grellong. Grellong will write for the series while Lin is expected to direct the pilot.

Based on the book of the same name by Geoff Manaugh, A Burglar’s Guide to the City revolves around a team of high-tech thieves who, in Robin Hood fashion, steal from the rich and give to the poor. Leading this modern day band of merry men is an accomplished architect who finds himself troubled by demons from his own life:

This marks the third high-profile sale for Secret Hideout this season. The company has another put pilot commitment at CBS for a character-based procedural from writer Jenny Lumet and producers Katie Couric and David Marshall Grant. Additionally, Secret Hideout partnered with James Patterson and Michael Rauch for CBS drama Dr. Death, which has Alan Cumming attached to star. The company also produces the upcoming CBS All Access Star Trek series, which Kurtzman co-created with Bryan Fuller. Secret Hideout is repped by CAA and attorney Michael Gendler.

At CBS, Lin has a pilot production commitment for S.W.A.T., a drama inspired by the movie and original series, which he is producing with Shawn Ryan and Neal Moritz and may also direct.
