ABC‘s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. character gets virtual birthday gift. Iain De Caestecker celebrated his birthday on December 29, 2013 and to mark the occasion, Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer, Joe Quesada, along with colorist Paul Mounts, debuted an illustration on Agents‘ official Twitter feed. The illustration depicts Iain’s TV persona, Agent Fitz, enjoying a granted wish in the form of H.E.N.R.Y., a virtual monkey A.I. (Fitz once wished for a monkey – it was episode 1.3, “The Asset,” if you don’t believe me). No word on what H.E.N.R.Y. stands for, just yet, but the illustration did come with a text greeting to Iain.
The virtual birthday gift:
“In a time of Gorilla Grodd, Fitz gets a monkey”… sorry mates, I couldn’t resist. The actual text read: “Fitz finally got his monkey, thanks to @JoeQuesada and @PaulMounts! His name is H.E.N.R.Y. Happy birthday, Iain!”
Believe it or not, this is the first comic illustration treatment of anything Agents, and I wouldn’t be surprised if calls start going out for an official adaptation.
Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 8 PM ET on ABC.
