Patton Oswalt Returning for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Fourth Season
Patton Oswalt’s role as the Koenig brothers have been a mystery on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. since they appeared in season one. With the Life Model Decoys as part of the second half of season four, maybe this will give us answers on why the Koenig siblings look the same?
Entertainment Weekly gave the exclusive report that Patton Oswalt would return to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Sam and Billy Koenig. During the first season, Eric Koenig made his debut until HYDRA agent Grant Ward murdered him. Season two introduced viewers to his identical brothers Sam and Billy, who were also played by Oswalt. Seeing that both characters have the same look, many fans have thought that they might be Life Model Decoys, which have been introduced on the show’s fourth season. Could it mean that the Koenigs are actually LMDs? It would be an interesting development, as it would prove that LMDs have existed before Holden Radcliffe made one.
Showrunners Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen teased that a secret would be revealed. “Patton Oswalt returns as the Koenigs, and we finally reveal their family secret.” Oswalt will make his return during the January 31st episode ‘Hot Potato Soup’ as the Koenig brothers will be chased by an unknown enemy relating to the Darkhold.
