AGENTS OF SHIELD: Season Five To Premiere Midseason in 2018 [ABC]

Agents of SHIELD Season Four Cast

Agents of SHIELD’s Fifth Season Won’t Air Until 2018

When Agents of SHIELD returns for it’s fifth season, we may have to wait a little longer until we get to see in on TV. With Inhumans taking over on Friday nights for it’s 8-episode first season, Agents of SHIELD won’t be airing the new season until early 2018.

During the fall, Inhumans will be making it’s debut on ABC on Fridays, which would usually be where Agents of SHIELD would air after it’s run is over. However, the show’s fifth season is getting a winter premiere date set for 2018 with a run of 22 episodes without any interruptions or breaks. The news was revealed by the show’s VFX supervisor Mark Kolpack on his Twitter feed.

So what can we expect from the new season of Agents of SHIELD? Last we checked, the season ended with Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his team taken away by some guys in suits with Coulson waking up in space before the hour was over. Perhaps it may tie into Inhumans or even with the impending threat coming to Earth when The Avengers faces off against the mad titan Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War next year? The show has tackled everything from HYDRA and space to the supernatural and androids. Whatever happens next season, hopefully it will be well worth the wait once it comes back in 2018. Are you sad that we won’t be seeing Agents of SHIELD’s fifth season until next year?
