AMERICAN GODS: Sean Harris And Yetide Badaki Join Cast [Starz]

Sean Harris Yetide Badaki

Americans Gods adds Sean Harris and Yetide Badaki to it’s cast. The two actors will play supporting roles in the Starz adaptation of the Neil Gaiman fantasty novel.

Harris, who is known for his work on The Borgias, is set to play Mad Sweeney, while Badaki, who previously appeared on Aquarius, will portray Bilquis. In addition, TV newcomer Bruce Langley rounds out the cast as Technical Boy.

A favorite of fantasy fans, American Gods presented a unique take on the genre, envisioning a world where ancient gods and mythological beings fear that they are being supplanted by new deities who are more in tune with modern times. Readers learn about this struggle through the eyes of Shadow Moon, an ex-convict who follows a certain Mr. Wednesday through this incredible world:

Harris’ Mad Sweeney is a down on his luck leprechaun, who is having a hard time understanding how he lost his charm and way. Always up for a good fight, Sweeney is never deprived while in the employment of Mr. Wednesday. Badaki’s Bilquis is an ancient goddess of love who craves the worship she inspired in eras long gone, and who is eager to find that same relevance in today’s world. Langley’s Technical Boy is a New God who is purveyor of all things technology. Desperate to prove himself, and hungry for respect and power, he struggles to keep his impulsivity and petulance in check, making him dangerously unpredictable.
