Peyton Reed Opens Up About Possibly Doing a Ant-Man Prequel on Hank Pym. With a few weeks away until Ant-Man comes out, it’s obvious that he will have a future with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So what does Peyton Reed say about having a sequel or even a prequel?

Ant-Man shows the passing of the mantle from Michael Douglas’s Hank Pym to Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang. We would be able to see Hank Pym in flashbacks during the movie, but ComicBook.com questioned the director on whether he would like to explore deeper into the characters a bit more, especially with Hank Pym.

When asked about being open to doing a sequel or prequel, Reed responded with interest. “Listen, if we were lucky enough to be able to do a sequel or even a prequel, I’d be way into it,” he said. “I’ve really fallen in love with these characters. I was always in love with the characters in the comic book world but there’s a lot of story to tell with Hank Pym.”

Would you watch a prequel exploring Hank Pym’s past? Ant-Man comes out in theaters July 17, 2015.
