Ant-Man And The Wasp Director Peyton Reed Says Evangeline Lilly Will Have Major Role

Yes Man director Peyton Reed explains that Evangeline Lilly will figure more prominently in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

While the fact that Lilly’s Wasp was included in the film’s title indicated that more attention was going to be given to the character, Reed explained that there was actual significance to the name of Hope Van Dyne’s alter ego being included. As the Ant-Man director elaborates, she is not just a glorified supporting character but rather a co-star holding her own against Paul Rudd‘s Scott Lang.

Indeed, Reed states that it was very important for him to capture the team dynamic that exists between the two characters in the comics and transplant it to the big screen. According to CBR.com, the source of this story, the director described his intentions for the upcoming movie as follows:

“It’s something we’re excited about,” he told Collider. “For me as a comic nerd, I always thought of Ant-Man and Wasp as a team and that’s a lot of what the second movie is really about is how they work together, what their personal and professional relationships are like. To show her finally fully formed in this movie is really exciting. We really get to introduce this character into that universe.
