AQUAMAN (2018): James Wan Announced as Director

James Wan To Direct Aquaman. Aquaman finally has found it’s director to bring Jason Momoa into the high seas for his first solo adventure. James Wan, known for making Furious 7 the highest grossing film of the year, will be directing the DC film for Warner Bros.

James Wan has become the most demanding director in Hollywood now that Furious 7 has become a global success. There were many studios who were interested in having him in several projects, with the big one being Aquaman. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it is now official that the Saw director will be helming the first live-action adaptation of one of the Justice League members. Wan will also be overseeing the script, which is being written by 300’s Kurt Johnstad.

Aquaman will be Wan’s next project after he’s done directing The Conjuring 2. Wan also will be helming Robotech, so it seems that he will be a busy man for a while. Don’t expect to be seeing Jason Momoa swimming into theaters until July 27, 2018. However, we will see him make his first live-action appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which releases on March 25, 2016.
