TV show trailer for The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak, on The CW‘s Arrow. Ever wondered about Team Arrow’s resident whiz kid, Felicity Smoak’s (Emily Bett Rickards) backstory? Family, home life, academic history, relationship history – frankly, anything at all, outside of Queen Consolidated, or the Arrow Cave? Well then, I’m glad somebody has, because after two seasons, and four episodes, the most detail provided about her character came second hand, from Dr. Wells. That’s Dr. Wells of The Flash, from an episode of The Flash. Over two seasons of core character support, and the first real personal details get outsourced to the spinoff?
The Flash should keep her – better geek-to-jock ratio. Send all hate mail to….
To be fair, I’m assuming Team Arrow’s inner circle already knows the Felicity daily details; so the emphasis will be on the ‘Secret’ in the title. Something to do with with her hacker past, and a bad (yet, inevitable) pun on her last name; but mostly some long overdue Felicity personal time.
Of course, Secret Origins may also be a reference to the DC comics title, which chronicles the origins of various DC heroes; but never mind my mental wanderings, over Oracle, and some future Birds of Prey treatment – enjoy the fanservice.
‘The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoak’ also features Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Colton Haynes, Willa Holland, Katie Cassidy, Paul Blackthorne, J.R. Ramirez, Nolan Gerard Funk, and Charlotte Ross, and airs Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 8:00 pm EST, on The CW.
