Arrow Constantine

Matt Ryan to Bring Back Constantine on Arrow. It looks like Constantine will be rising from the dead, but on another show. Matt Ryan, who starred as the title character in NBCs cancelled series, will return to the role in an episode of The CW’s Arrow.

John Constantine, who has fought demons and the supernatural most of his life, will lend a hand to Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) when he shows up in the fifth episode of Arrow’s fourth season. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The CW described his arrival saying that Constantine will give some useful advice and support to Oliver when arrows aren’t enough. “It’s a great one-shot episode,” CW President Mark Pedowitz said at the TCA Summer Press Tour.

“We are thrilled to have Matt Ryan reprise the role of John Constantine on an upcoming episode of Arrow. Matt is an incredibly talented actor and his portrayal of this beloved character was always something we admired,” Arrow EP Marc Guggenheim said in a statement. “The introduction of magic and mysticism on the show this season has provided a truly organic opportunity for us to bring John Constantine to Arrow and the CW’s DC universe. It will be a well-deserved tip of the hat to all the Constantine fans who were so incredibly supportive of that series.”

Matt Ryan also shared the good news on Twitter in a video and tweeted this: “The Trench Coat is being dusted off. #Constantine #Arrow @CW_Arrow @amellywood looking forward to it.” Constantine ended in a cliffhanger and was cancelled after the supernatural drama failed to find a new home.
