ARROW: Peter Stormare Returning as Vertigo

Vertigo Arrow

Peter Stormare to Reprise Role of Vertigo in Arrow. We haven’t seen the last of Vertigo after all as Peter Stormare is set to reprise the role on The CW’s Arrow next year. The Swedish actor will return during the second half of the show’s third season.

According to EW, Vertigo will make an appearance during the 13th episode, but details on his return are being kept in the dark. Vertigo made his first appearance on the season premiere of Arrow when crime boss Werner Zytle takes over as the new Vertigo after the death of Count Vertigo (Seth Gabel). When we last saw Werner, he drugged Oliver (Stephen Amell) who was infected by Vertigo’s effects of putting fear in its victims. This caused Oliver to fight against himself due to the effects of the drugs when he was in fact fighting Werner. After his defeat, Werner was taken into custody by the CPD or so we thought.

“It’s a thrill to have Peter Stormare return as Vertigo,” executive producer Marc Guggenheim said. “When people see this episode, I think they’ll find that it’s a culmination of a lot of elements that we’ve put into place in the first 12 episodes of Season 3. For that reason, it felt appropriate to us to have Peter return since he was the villain of the episode that kicked off all of this madness. It’s also just a joy to work with him.”

Stormare replaced Seth Gabel as Vertigo since his death during the second season. The actor joins a list of returning stars this season including Manu Bennett, Alex Kingston, Caity Lotz, and Bex Taylor-Klaus.
