ARROW: Stephen Amell Says Deathstroke Could Return Regardless of DCEU [THE CW]

Manu Bennett Arrow

Stephen Amell comments on the possibility of Deathstroke returning to Arrow. The CW show star said that the character’s reported role in the DC Extended Universe has no bearing on his chances of reappearing in the program.

When Ben Affleck recently suggested that Slade Wilson, better known as the infamous mercenary Deathstroke, might appear in either Justice League or his planned solo Batman film, Arrow viewers worried that this meant that Manu Bennett would no longer able to portray the character on the show. When one concerned fan brought this up to Amell at Salt Lake Comic-Con, the actor made it clear that the presence of DC characters in the company’s film franchise does not preclude the possibility of them appearing or returning in their TV shows. This means that Bennett could very well continue in the role even as he is portrayed on the big screen by an entirely different actor:

However, it’s been previously stated by other Arrow cast and crew that Warner Bros.’, plans for Suicide Squad forced the show to kill off their versions of Amanda Waller and Floyd Lawton aka Deadshot  and drastically change their plans for season 4, which would’ve had a subplot focusing on Diggle, A.R.G.U.S. and Task Force X.  With that in mind, is it really possible for Manu Bennett to return to Arrorw?  Then again, the DCEU and DCTV universe currently have their own respective Superman and Flash so it’s really anyone’s guess as to how WB is deciding to divide up its DC Comics characters between film and TV.
