AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR (2018): Marvel Crossover Will Feature Spider-Man

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Confirmed To Appear In Avengers: Infinity War

Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland says that his iteration of the titular hero will play a role in Avengers: Infinity War.

According to CBR.com, the actor confirmed his involvement in the planned crossover film in an interview with Vogue magazine, excerpts of which were published on Twitter by an Italian Tom Holland fan group. In the material quoted, Holland speaks of a commitment to three Marvel films over the next four years, one of which is Infinity War. He did not specify whether this meant his role in the film would be big or not, but fans will undoubtedly be excited just to see the webslinger get another chance to fight alongside his fellow heroes.

Holland’s announcement comes only days after similar news involving Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Zoe Saldana took the web by storm. Asked about her chances of appearing in the third Avengers film, Saldana revealed that she would indeed return for it, meaning that the project will see the Guardians and the Avengers cross paths for the first time.

As CBR.com notes, Infinity War is well on its way to being the most superhero-studded movie in the Marvel canon to date:

This appears to eliminate doubt on whether the deal between Sony and Marvel Studios excluded Spider-Man from appearing in an Avengers film. With filming set to begin this month and a casting call including a who’s who of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, “Avengers: Infinity War” has the potential to be the largest superhero film in terms of total characters, surpassing “Captain America: Civil War.”
