I have been interested in Battlestar Galactica: Caprica since I first heard of the concept: “Caprica is a television series, set to premiere on Sci-Fi in 2010, described as “television’s first science fiction family saga”. It was originally a 2-hour back door pilot for a possible weekly television series but on December 2, 2008 Sci-Fi gave the go-ahead to expand the project into a full series. Caprica will be set on the fictional planet Caprica around fifty years before the events depicted in the 2004 reimagined series. The show will revolve around two families, the Adamas and the Graystones, the building of the Cylons, and the beginnings of the first Cylon War. The pilot is directed by Jeffrey Reiner and stars Eric Stoltz, Esai Morales, Paula Malcomson and Polly Walker. Sci-Fi has ordered 20 hours of Caprica including a 2-hour pilot.Screenrant and Scifiwire are reporting that the unrated, extended DVD of the pilot episode for Battlestar Galactica: Caprica will be available on April 21, 2009, before the show is set to premiere on television.

Battlestar Galactica: Caprica “should retail at around $26.98. Extras will include a commentary with Director Jeffrey Reiner and Executive Producer/Writer Ronald D. Moore and Executive Producer David Eick, deleted scenes, and video blogs (What the Frak is Caprica?, The Director’s Process, The V Club, The Birth of a Cylon). ” What do you think of this marketing plan andthe new Battlestar Galactica series?
