Bryan Cranston interested in reprising his role as Walter White in Better Call Saul. The Academy Award-nominated Trumbo and Argo actor said that he’s “all in” for a guest appearance on the AMC series.
Set before the events of Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul focuses on the life of Saul Goodman before he became Walter White’s lawyer and partner. Although White met with an untimely demise at the end of the series, Cranston is holding out hope that he will be able to play him again in Saul:
“I owe Vince Gilligan so much. He was my champion to get this role,” he told the host. “He said, ‘That’s my guy. This is the guy I want’ […] If they were to call me and say, ‘We have this idea, we’d like…’ I would say, ‘Yes, you don’t have to finish the pitch. I’m there, what do you want me to do?’ I’ll do whatever they want because I know how careful they are and proprietary they are with those characters and storylines. And it wouldn’t be something, ‘Oh, isn’t that kind of a stunt casting kind of thing.’ It would be something kind of unique and obscure and creative, and I’m all in.”
The Emmy Award-winning actor hasn’t been asked to join the prequel, but his answer could spark some interest from the series creators Gilligan and Peter Gould. However, he has been asked to direct an episode of the Bob Odenkirk-led series, but has been hesitant.
