Disney Casts Big Hero 6 Voice Actors For TV Adaptation

Most of the team behind Big Hero 6 will return to their roles for the Disney TV spin-off.

Among the talent slated to reprise their characters for the animated series are Scott Adist, Jamie Chung, Maya Rudolph, Alan Tudyk, Ryan Potter, Genesis Rodriguez, David Shaughnessy, and Stan Lee. Although the show is not set to hit the air until next year, several guest stars have already been pegged for appearances. Comedian Andy Richter, Sherlock‘s Andrew Scott, and Jenifer Lewis of black-ish fame are all set to play roles in the series’ opening season:

Joining the Big Hero 6 series are also Khary Payton and Brooks Wheelan Join as Wasabi and Fred, respectively. Those parts were originally voiced by Damon Wayans Jr. and T.J. Miller in the 2014 feature film.

Set to premiere in 2017, the Big Hero 6 series picks up immediately following the events of the feature film and continues the adventures and friendship of 14-year-old tech genius Hiro and his compassionate, cutting-edge robot Baymax. Along with their friends Wasabi, Honey Lemon, Go Go and Fred, they form the legendary superhero team Big Hero 6 and embark on high-tech adventures as they protect their city from an array of scientifically enhanced villains. In his normal day-to-day life, Hiro faces daunting academic challenges and social trials as the new prodigy at San Fransokyo Institute of Technology.
