BLACKMAIL: Aaron Paul To Produce TV Drama [NBC]

Aaron Paul to serve as executive producer for Blackmail. The Emmy Award-winning Breaking Bad and Exodus: Gods and Kings actor submitted a one hour script for the proposed drama to NBC.

Partnering with NBC and Universal Television, the actor will work on the show through his Lucid Road production company. Paul is also joined on the project by Thomas and John Sonntag, who will serve as writers for the program.

Blackmail is one of several dramas green-lit by NBC for the upcoming 2016-2017 TV season. The network is also developing Academy Award-winner Paul Haggis and Law and Order: SVU veteran Warren Leight’s Salvation and Homeland alum Gideon Raff’s Waking Lions:

Titled Blackmail, the project centers on a young married couple who a life-changing accident and decide to get back at the man responsible by threatening to reveal his infidelity to his fiancee. But when things turn out to be more sinister than the couple originally thought, a dark game of cat-and-mouse sets them on the path to knowing what it means to be a real-life power couple.

Brothers Thomas and John Sonntag will write the project, and exec produce with Paul. His Lucid Road shingle will produce in association with Universal Television, the studio behind the Hulu drama The Path in which Paul stars and produces. The actor is also an exec producer on the Netflix animated comedy BoJack Horseman. Paul is repped by UTA.
