James Mangold Will Co-write and Direct Boba Fett Stand-alone Star Wars Film

James Mangold has been hired to co-write and direct a stand-alone Boba Fett film for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Mangold will be co-writing the screenplay for the Boba Fett film with Simon Kinberg. Mangold and Kinsberg were the collaborative team behind Logan. Simon Kinberg will be producing the Boba Fett film along-side his writing duties.

The obvious possible titles for the Boba Fett stand-alone Star Wars film are: Boba Fett: A Star Wars Story or Fett: A Star Wars Story.

Boba Fett’s clone origin was explored in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. The character was featured in three other Star Wars films: Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.

Boba Fett first appeared in the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special. Throughout the Star Wars film universe, Boba Fett has been portrayed by numerous actors: Jeremy Bulloch, John Morton, Mark Austin, Don Bies, Nelson Hall, and Daniel Logan.

There is no word yet on who will be portraying Boba Fett in the Boba Fett stand-alone film. There is also no word yet on when the Boba Fett stand-alone will be released in theater.
