Box Office February 17-19, 2012. Safe House was Number One at the box office over the weekend with $24 Million. The Vow was Second with $23.6 Million. Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance premiered in Third Place with $22 Million. Journey 2: The Mysterious Island was Fourth with $20 Million. This Means War premiered in Fifth Place with $17.5 Million. Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, Chronicle, The Woman in Black, The Secret World of Arrietty (which premiered this weekend), and The Grey rounded out the top ten respectively.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is a 3D superhero film based on the Marvel Comics antihero Ghost Rider. It is the sequel to the 2007 film Ghost Rider and features Nicolas Cage returning to his starring role as Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider. It is also the second film to be released under the Marvel Knights banner after 2008’s Punisher: War Zone. The film was directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, from a screenplay written by David S. Goyer, Scott Gimple and Seth Hoffman.

This Means War is a 2012 romantic comedy action film directed by McG. The film stars Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine and Tom Hardy as victims of a love triangle in which two CIA agents and best friends (Pine and Hardy) discover that they are dating the same woman (Witherspoon).

The Secret World of Arrietty, known in Japan as The Borrower Arrietty,…is a 2010 Japanese animated fantasy film based on Mary Norton’s juvenile fantasy novel The Borrowers. The film was directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi, was written by Hayao Miyazaki and Keiko Niwa, and stars the voices of Mirai Shida as the titular character, Ryunosuke Kamiki as Sho, and Tatsuya Fujiwara as Spiller. The film tells the story of Arrietty, a young Borrower who lives under the floorboards of a typical household.
