Box Office July 11-13, 2014. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes premiered in the Number One at the box office over the the weekend with $72.6 Million. Transformers: Age of Extinction was Second with $16.3 Million for $208.8 Million so far. Tammy was Third with $12.5 Million. 22 Jump Street was Fourth for the second week in a row with $6.5 Million for $171.1 Million so far. How to Train Your Dragon 2 was Fifth for the second week in row with $8.7 Million for $140 Million so far. Earth to Echo, Deliver Us From Evil, Maleficent, Begin Again, and Jersey Boys rounded out the top ten respectively.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is a 2014 American science fiction film directed by Matt Reeves and written by Mark Bomback, Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver. It stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, and Kodi Smit-McPhee. It is the sequel to the 2011 film Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which began 20th Century Fox’s reboot of the original Planet of the Apes series. It is the eighth theatrical film in the franchise.
