Box Office / March 10, 2008

Two new releases ruled this weekend at the Box Office. Emmerich’s 10,000 BC scored the number one spot this weekend. The lackluster epic made $35.7 Million but you can expect a steep decline from that number next week. The new Martin Lawrence comedy, College Road Trip, brought in $14 Million for the number two spot. Vantage Point earned $7.5 Million, dropping 41.5% of its audience from last week, even though the film showed in an additional thirteen theaters. Semi-Pro, last week’s number one film, seems more like a novice as it dropped to fourth place in its second week for $5.9 Million. The film dropped 60.9% of its audience from last week. The Bank Job, the third new release of the weekend, earned $5.71 Million. The Spiderwick Chronicles, The Other Boleyn Girl, Jumper, Step Up 2: The Streets and Fool’s Gold rounded out the top ten respectively. Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day premiered in eleventh place with $2.5 Million. Juno, in its fourteenth week of release, took in another $2 Million for a total of $137.9 Million.
