Box Office: March 24, 2008

Who knew? I did, that’s Who. Dr. Seuss’s Horton Hears a Who is the Number One film in the nation for the second week in a row. It dropped 44.2% of its audience from last weekend. As I predicted, the Tyler Perry family drama Meet the Browns premiered very high, Number Two over the weekend in fact, with a little over $20 Million. The Asian remake Shutter premiered with $10.7 Million in the Number Three spot. Fourth place went to the third major premiere of weekend, Drillbit Taylor, which brought in $10.2 Million. 10,000 BC, Never Back Down, College Road Trip, The Bank Job, Vantage Point and Under the Same Moon, the last major premiere of the weekend, rounded out the top ten respectively with $2.6 Million. Doomsday dropped 55.8% of its audience from last week for the eleventh spot with $2.18 Million. Boy, I didn’t see that coming. The Other Boleyn Girl rounded out the top twelve with $2 Million. And then there was Juno. In its sixteen week of release, the film added another $765 Thousand to its coffers for a total of $141 Million.
