Box Office: May 13-15, 2011: THOR, BRIDESMAIDS, FAST FIVE, PRIEST

The hammer struck twice. Thor was Number One at the box office for the second weekend in a row with $34.5 Million for $119.2 Million so far. Thor‘s box office reign will probably end with the release of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides this Friday. Bridemaids premiered in Second Place with $24.4 Million. Fast Five was Third with $19.5 Million for $168.7 Million so far. Priest premiered in Fourth Place with $14.5 Million. Jumping the Broom, Something Borrowed, Water for Elephants, Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family, and Soul Surfer rounded out the top ten respectively.

Bridesmaids is a 2011 American comedy directed by Paul Feig and produced by Judd Apatow, Barry Mendel, and Clayton Townsend. The plot centers on Annie (Kristen Wiig) and her experiences as maid of honor in Lillian’s (Maya Rudolph) wedding. Priest is a 2011 American supernatural action film starring Paul Bettany as the title character. The film, directed by Scott Stewart, is based on the Korean comic of the same name. In an alternate world, humanity and vampires have warred for centuries. After the last Vampire War, the veteran Warrior Priest (Bettany) lives in obscurity with other humans inside one of the Church’s walled cities. When the Priest’s niece (Lily Collins) is kidnapped by vampires, the Priest breaks his vows to hunt them down. He is accompanied by the niece’s boyfriend (Cam Gigandet), who is a wasteland sheriff, and a former Warrior Priestess (Maggie Q). The film stars Paul Bettany, Karl Urban, Cam Gigandet, Maggie Q, Lily Collins, Stephen Moyer, Christopher Plummer, Brad Dourif, Alan Dale, Madchen Amick, and Dave Florek.
