Box Office: November 24-26, 2017
Coco premiered in the Number One spot at the box office over the weekend with $49 Million. Justice League was Second with $40.7 Million for $171. 5 Million so far. I had hoped, for DC Comics’ sake, that Justice League would have been Number One at the box office for this week and the following week but that is not going to happen. DC hoped for a The Avengers pay day and they are not going to get it. Not even close. Thor: Ragnarok may end up out-performing Justice League. World-wide, Justice League has brought in $481.3 Million so far.
Wonder was Third with $27 Million. The family drama continues to hold well and over-perform. Thor: Ragnarok was Fourth at the box office this weekend with $16.7 Million for $277.4 Million so far. World-wide, Thor: Ragnarok has made over $790 Million.
Daddy’s Home 2 was Fifth with $13.2 Million. Murder on the Orient Express, The Star, A Bad Moms Christmas, Roman J. Israel, Esq., and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri rounded out the top ten respectively.

Coco is a 2017 American 3D computer-animated musical film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Based on an original idea by Lee Unkrich, it is directed by Unkrich, and co-directed and co-written by Adrian Molina. The story follows a 12-year-old boy named Miguel who accidentally visits the land of the dead where he seeks the help of his musician great-great-grandfather to return him to his family among the living. The concept of the film is based on the Mexican holiday of Día de Muertos. The screenplay was penned by Adrian Molina and Matthew Aldrich, and the story by Unkrich, Molina, Jason Katz, and Aldrich. Pixar began developing animation in 2016. Unkrich and some of the film’s crew members also visited Mexico for inspiration. Composer Michael Giacchino, who had worked on prior Pixar animated features, composed the score.
