Box Office / Weekend of July 18 – 20

The Bat takes the weekend Box Office by a land slide and sets a few records along the way. The Dark Knight took the top spot this weekend (no sh*t) with $155.3 Million dollars. It also set the one day record on Friday, July 18, 2008 with $67.85 Million, betting Spiderman 3, the previous record holder ($40.4 Million on June 30, 2004) and set the best midnight record with $18 Million. In one weekend, The Dark Knight has almost made back its production budget of $180 Million. Mamma Mia! was Number Two this weekend with $27.6 Million. Third was Hancock with $14 Million for a total of $191.5 Million. Journey to the Center of the Earth was Number Four, bringing in $11.9 Million. Fifth was Hellboy II: The Golden Army with $10 Million. Wall-E, Space Chimps, Wanted, Get Smart and Kung-Fu Panda rounded out the top ten respectively.
