CAPTAIN AMERICA: Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers Has Dropped the Mantle in MCU

Captain America: Civil War Iron Man

Steve Rogers Will No Longer Be Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. At the end of Captain America: Civil War, Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) dropped his shield after fighting with Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), meaning that Cap has relinquished the title.

Steve Rogers is no longer Captain America in the MCU since he decided to leave his shield and costume behind. The film’s directors, the Russo Brothers, have also made that official. “I think him dropping that shield is him letting go of that identity,” Joe Russo told The Huffington Post in a recent interview. “[It’s] him admitting that certainly the identity of Captain America was in conflict with the very personal choice that he was making.”

It is possible that Steve Rogers will return to take back the title for Avengers: Infinity War. However, it’s a possibility that we would find the former Cap living the normal life for a while before the movie starts. He could also go by a different name. What do you guys think?
