Robert Redford cast in Captain America 2. Robert Redford being in talks to star in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) is surprising but welcome news for the Anthony Russo and Joe Russo directed film. If Redford is cast in Captain America 2, he will play a senior official of the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement, and Logistics Division (S.H.I.E.L.D.). “If he signs, he would be contracted to appear in future Marvel projects, which could include The Avengers 2, the S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show or any number of other projects Marvel has in the works. None of those are confirmed, but the fact that his contract would include multiple pictures is.”
