Universal Pictures Gets Film Rights to Mark Miller’s Comic Book Chrononauts. Mark Miller’s next film project will be for his upcoming adaptation of the time-traveling comic book series Chrononauts. Universal Pictures has optioned the rights for the big screen adaptation.
Variety reported that Chrononauts, which is also co-created by Sean Gordon Murphy, would be produced by Miller and Muprhy alongside Chris Morgan under his brand Chris Morgan Productions. The project will be managed by Vice President Ainsley Davies of Chris Morgan Productions and Universal’s director of development Jay Polidoro.
Chrononauts follows the story of Corbin Quinn and Danny Reilly, two scientists who discover time-travel and decide to go back in time. The comic book series released this week prior to the announcement of the film.
Murphy shared the news on his Twitter page saying, “Chrononauts movie is happening! I’ve been keeping this secret since August!!!”
Mark Miller’s work has been adapted to films in the past, including Wanted, Kick-Ass, and the recent box-office hit Kingsman: The Secret Service. Murphy has been known for creating the New York Times bestselling comic Punk Rock Jesus and written a short for Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar for Wired Magazine.
