CLOAK AND DAGGER: TV Show Based on Marvel Series Picked Up [Freeform]

Cloak and Dagger Comics

Freeform to Adapt Cloak and Dagger into a TV Series. Marvel is continuing to expand it’s TV content as ABC’s sister network Freeform has just picked up a television adaptation of Cloak and Dagger. The superhero series went straight to series after getting greenlit by the network.

According to Variety, the new series will be airing on Freeform, which was formerly ABC Family before rebranding the name to focus on younger viewers. The story is being described as an interracial superhero love story between Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, two teenagers from different backgrounds. The two young lovers find themselves endowed with new powers while falling for each other. Tandy gains the ability of releasing light daggers while Tyrone has the ability to swallow others into the darkness. The two find out that they work better together than apart, but it proves difficult for them as their world becomes more complicated.

No writers or cast have been announced yet, but the search is on for the two main leads. The series seems to be aiming towards a young adult audience, which may not sit well with everyone. However, Marvel has released content that suits well for everyone whether it’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or Netflix’s Daredevil. What do you guys think? Would you be willing to check out Cloak and Dagger when it comes out?
