COWBOY BEBOP: Live-Action TV Series Being Developed By Tomorrow Studios

Tomorrow Studios Set To Produce Live-Action Cowboy Bebop Adaptation

Tomorrow Studios has joined forces with ITV Studios to make a new live-action TV show based on the popular anime Cowboy Bebop.

Although the project is still in the early stages of development, a writer has already been attached to it. Chris Yost, who has worked on such productions as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Wolverine and the X-Men, and the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok, will adapt the animated series for live-action television. The two companies behind the planned program also have had their share of experience in television production. Tomorrow is known for producing Aquarius and Good Behavior, while ITV has helmed such shows as Heartbeat and Agatha Christie’s Poirot. No network is attached to the series at this point.

Superherohype, the source of this story, shares the following information about the original anime:

Cowboy Bebop first premiered in 1998 and tells the story of The Bebop crew, intergalactic loners who team up to track down fugitives and turn them in for cold hard cash. Among the crew is Spike Spiegel, a hero whose cool façade hides a dark and deadly past; the pilot Jet, a bruiser of a brute who can’t wait to collect the next bounty; and Faye Valentine, a femme fatale prone to breaking hearts and separating fools from their money. Set against the backdrop of space in the year 2017, along for the ride are the brilliant, but weird, hacker Ed, and a super-genius Welsh Corgi named Ein.
