Superman’s Future Up in the Air for the Network [The CW]

Mark Pedowitz Discusses Superman’s Future on The CW

Tyler Hoechlin was widely praised for his portrayal as the Man of Steel in Supergirl when he appeared in the two-part season premiere. Everyone has been wondering if Superman would eventually return to the series or do a spin-off on The CW. Well don’t hold you breath…

With most of the DC TV shows renewed for next Fall, it makes us wonder if the network can bring on more shows to their line-up. The CW has found some success with these shows, so having Superman in the mix would be even better for them. Tyler Hoechlin has been getting positive reviews for his role and fans want more of him. It would be pretty bad if the character never came back.

Chatting with Entertainment Weekly, CW President Mark Pedowitz gave some bad news that there were no plans for the Boy in Blue to return to Supergirl or have him on a TV show. However, it seems like the door is always open for his return.

“Tyler did a great job,” he said. “There’s no plan to do a series. There are no plans at the moment for him to return [to Supergirl]. If they wish to have him return, we’d love to have him.” When Pedowitz was aksed whether it’s because of the DC Films Universe, he added: “I can’t even answer the question yet, because at this time there are no plans to do it and there have been no discussions about it.” He has no definite answer, but we still hold out hope that Superman will make his trip to the small screen soon regardless of what happens to the DC films.
