ABC Eyeing Half-Hour Comedy Based on Marvel’s Damage Control. Have you ever wondered who cleans up after The Avengers? Well, ABC and Marvel have an answer for that in the form of a comedy series in development based on the comic book series Damage Control.
ABC has given a pilot commitment for Damage Control, a live-action half-hour comedy series being developed and written by The Daily Show’s Ben Karlin. The upcoming project would be produced by David Milner and Marvel TV head honcho Jeph Loeb. According to Deadline, the potential series would focus on the overworked and underpaid clean up crew who clean up after the Marvel Universe. This Damage Control team is responsible for tasks like returning lost ray guns to their rightful owners, rescheduling wedding venues after being destroyed in an epic battle, or even tracking down a missing prize African parrot that’s been turned into stone or goo.
It’s unknown on whether or not the sitcom would tie in to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but there is potential for some hidden Easter eggs if that’s the case.
Ever since it’s introduction in 1988, Damage Control has had a recurring presence in the Marvel Comics universe, being part of four limited series so far. They will soon be getting their own storyline under Marvel Comics Presents next year.
