DEADPOOL (2016): Filming to Take Place in Vancouver

Deadpool Begins Shooting in Vancouver in March. It looks like Ryan Reynolds will head to his hometown when Deadpool starts shooting in Vancouver this spring. Vancouver has been known for shooting most of the films in the X-Men film franchise.

Canadian news site Global News reported that 20th Century Fox would start filming Deadpool this spring at the City of Vancouver. Ryan Reynolds was originally was born and bred in the mainland where he still has family in the city. The last time the actor was in Canada was when he traveled to Toronto last October when he was inducted in the country’s own Walk of Fame.

Reynolds will return to play the Merc with a Mouth in the film, which comes out early next year. The 38-year-old actor last portrayed Wade Wilson in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which was also shot in Vancouver.

Canada will also be the place where X-Men: Apocalypse is being shot as the film starts shooting in Montreal in April.

Tim Miller will be directing the film from a script written by Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Deadpool is set for release on February 12, 2016.
