Deadpool creator muses about Green Lantern (Ryan Reynolds) playing different Superheros

Robert Liefeld – creator of Deadpool – does not believe Warner Bros. wants Ryan Reynolds playing other superheros. Warner Bros. obviously wants to protect its possible franchise (add its face) since there are now not only talks of a second Green Lantern film but whispers of a third film as well.

After seeing Ryan Reynolds play Wade Wilson aka Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, most Deadpool and Reynolds  fans want him to play Deadpool in a standalone film. Warner Bros. knows this as well and may have taken steps to prevent 20th Century Fox and Ryan Reynolds from doing the film:

“‘Deadpool’ creator Robert Liefeld wrote on his Twitter account: ‘Warner Bros just trying to protect their investment. They don’t want Ryan Reynolds playing Deadpool AND Green Lantern.‘ … Warners just recently hired ‘Harry Potter [& The Order Of The Phoenix]’ writer Michael Goldenberg to pen the script for the ‘Green Lantern’ sequel with plans to go into production before the first film is even released. If box office results meet expectations, the third installment will immediately be greenlit. And then there’s the ‘Justice League of America’ movie.

Its not even a sneaky move, its a clever one. With no hole in his schedule, Ryan Reynolds can’t make the film. Simple. Simple except for the fact that Reynolds may not have signed a three picture deal. He may have signed a two picture deal with an option for a third. If that is the case, he could film Deadpool after he films the second Green Lantern film. From Robert Liefeld’s Twitter account:

Bottom line about Deadpool film is that if FOX doesn’t pull the DP film together with Ryan Reynolds between GL films-they should Hari Kari

Would Warner Bros. really re-cast Green  Lantern in the third film instead of waiting for Reynolds to film Deadpool? Thoughts?
