DEADPOOL: Ryan Reynolds Still Hopes For Rematch With Wolverine

Ryan Reynolds Clarifies Stance On Possible Deadpool And Wolverine Crossover

Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds explains that he still wants to face off against Hugh Jackman‘s Wolverine once again on the big screen.

The web was abuzz yesterday with reports that Deadpool would appear in a cameo in the upcoming Logan, sparking speculation that the mercenary might get some face time with Wolverine. As Reynolds made clear however, no such footage had been shot for the film, although he didn’t rule out an eventual crossover with the character:

Nevertheless, Reynolds is still game to work with Jackman in the future, and he hasn’t been shy about that. Earlier this month, he said, “I want Deapdool and Wolverine in a movie together… What we’re gonna have to do is convince Hugh. If anything, I’m going to need to do what I can to get my internet friends back on board to help rally another cause down the line.”

As such, Reynolds’ latest Tweet isn’t out of line with his earlier statements. Additionally, it took him nearly eleven years to convince Fox to make his R-rated version of “Deadpool,” so it makes sense that he’d want to wait to get the tone just right on a potential Wolverine/Deadpool crossover film. However, Jackman has gone on record to say that he is retiring the character of Wolverine, so Reynolds may need a little help convincing the longtime “X-Men” star to reprise the role in a future film.
