Netflix‘s The Defenders (2017) TV show trailer stars Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, Mike Colter, Finn Jones, and Sigourney Weaver. The Defenders‘ plot synopsis: “Marvel’s The Defenders follows Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones). A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.”
This is the moment that fans of Netflix’s Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist have been waiting for since the Marvel Television Universe on Netflix was announced. The time when the four heroes would join forces as The Defenders. That moment has finally arrived.
As one would expect, The Defenders promo is laced with an abundance of action. The humor the viewer will not expecting, especially when it comes to the heroes meeting each other for the first time. Watching Iron Fist meet then fight Luke Cage will remind the viewer of the Hulk vs. Thor fight in The Avengers. Luke Cage’s skin is nearly impenetrable but it doesn’t seem to be a problem for Iron Fist’s Chi.
What worked seamlessly in the trailer was how the heroes worlds were integrated. Marvel has perfected this over the years and that was on full display in this trailer, especially at the end of it when the viewer saw the entire team fighting together and then seating together around a table talking about formalizing their union, to the chagrin of some of them.
On the people behind-the-scenes of The Defenders:
Marvel’s Daredevil co-showrunner Marco Ramirez will serve as showrunner and executive producer for the series along with Drew Goddard, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. Director S.J. Clarkson (Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Dexter) will direct the first two episodes of the culminating mini-series event.
The Defenders‘ also stars Elden Henson, Deborah Ann Woll, Eka Darville, Carrie-Anne Moss, Scott Glenn, Jessica Henwick, Elodie Yung, Rachael Taylor, Simone Missick, and Rosario Dawson.
